Every year, the Malaga Christmas Lights transform the city into a breathtaking winter wonderland, and like many of our clients, the team at New Home Marbella is eagerly awaiting this year’s spectacular display. The 2025 illumination event officially begins Friday, November 28th 2025 at 6:30 PM, with the iconic Calle Larios once again taking center stage.

This year’s theme promises to be especially captivating. The new show, titled “Nativity of Light,” introduces a stunning collection of celestial stars and beautifully illuminated Nativity scenes—offering a fresh and enchanting experience that replaces last year’s popular angel display. Visitors can expect the city to feel even more magical, with vibrant lights shining throughout Malaga until January 6th, 2026.

If you’re planning to attend the grand switch-on event, we strongly recommend arriving at least two hours early. The first evening traditionally attracts thousands of visitors, and both traffic and parking can be challenging. Planning ahead will ensure you have the time and space to enjoy the atmosphere stress-free.

Of course, there’s no need to worry if you can’t make it on opening night. The full light show runs daily throughout the holiday season, giving residents, visitors, and clients of New Home Marbella plenty of opportunities to enjoy this unforgettable festive experience.

Whether you’re visiting Malaga for the evening or considering making the Costa del Sol your home, the Malaga Christmas Lights are a magical reminder of the beauty and lifestyle this region offers.

Useful information:

Calle Larios: The main attraction is a spectacular light and sound show that runs three times nightly at 6:30 PM, 8:00 PM, and 10:00 PM. The 2025 theme is "Nativity of Light" , featuring stars and Nativity scenes.
Cathedral: A separate projection mapping show called "Manto de Estrellas" will be displayed on the cathedral's facade from December 1st to January 4th.
Parque de Málaga: This park will be transformed into an "enchanted forest" of lights, called "Bosque de Luces".
Other areas: Other streets and plazas, such as Plaza de la Constitución and Alameda Principal, will also be illuminated.
Muelle Uno: On select dates in December and early January, there will be drone shows over the port.
